Coronavirus: WHO offers well wishes to U.S. President Trump, First Lady after positive test | FULL

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, alongside other WHO officials offered their well wishes to U.S. President Trump and first lady Melania Trump Friday after the announcement of their positive COVID-19 test late Thursday evening.

Ghebreyesus announced on Friday that WHO has finalized approval for a second antigen-based rapid diagnostic test to be granted in an emergency use listing. He said the test is simple and reliable, and results can be determined in about 15-30 minutes.

Over one million people have now died of the novel coronavirus globally, a sobering milestone as countries around the world struggle to contain a growing second wave of the pandemic.

The death toll surpassed one million Monday evening, according to public health data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
