Coronavirus outbreak: Trump says U.S. is halting funding to World Health Organization | FULL

President Donald Trump announced during a daily briefing alongside the coronavirus task force on Tuesday that the U.S. is going to be halting funding to the World Health Organization.

“Today I’m instructing my administration to halt funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess the World Health Organization’s role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus,” Trump said.

He criticized WHO over their opposition to his travel restrictions as the coronavirus pandemic began.

The president said the halt in funding will occur as the U.S. government conducts a review that will take between 60 to 90 days.
